A glass orb can be an ideal home for air plants as it keeps humidity inside.
Easy-care and exciting, grow without soil. They absorb nutrients through the leaves and they need watering by misting or soaking, usually 2-3 times a month. Tillandsia air plants include more than 700 species and they are native to South-America.
We offer both rare and popular species. In 2016 we have established our micro-greenhouse where we raise Tillandsia plants day by day.
The godfather of Tillandsia plants was professor Elias Tillandz, a Swedish-Finnish botanist of the 17th Century in Turku. According to legend, Tillandz changed his name from Tillander to Tillandz when, as a student, he traveled by boat from Turku to Stockholm. On the way, he became so seasick that he returned by walking around the Gulf of Bothnia, a distance of some 1000 kilometers. Later in the same century, Carl von Linné, another biologist give the name 'Tillandsia' for air plants after Elias Tillandz, because these plants don't require much water.
Picked carefully and ethically from the Nordic nature.
Pinecone, moss, lichen, tree bark, tree branch, and pine needles from the forests, stones, sand and seashells from the shores of the Baltic Sea - just to name a few.
We are using only natural ingredients as side elements in our air plant terrariums.
The virus-situation is sorrowful, and wellbeing today is important more than ever. In the past few days, a lot of us must have spent more time at home than usual, and practically realized the importance of home comfort.
Now it is a good time to start a new hobby without going anywhere and to create a relaxing environment with plants and design elements. Natural aesthetic beauty is essential because it is also a way to lower levels of stress and anxiety. Moreover, it increases happiness and at the same time, plants help concentrate better in the home and workplace.
Unfortunately, the circumstances also affect my handicraft business TillaPallo. I am now in a difficult situation.
